The information technologies are part of the call "informational revolution", that to the common sense it is understood only as being an instrument that makes possible the productivity increase. We leave of the premise that such technologies composes part of the productive forces, and if they present as a new dimension placed to the Social Work, demanding of the Social Worker, the learning and domain of these technologies. Therefore, in we consider them to make an introductory reflection, relating the technologies of information and the profession of the Social Worker.
